Overview

The TrustEd Schools is a Shropshire multi-academy trust looking after a family of local schools, consisting of 5 secondaries and 4 primaries. We are seeking to appoint an experienced colleague to work as a Cover Supervisor, supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher, and providing cover and support for our departments including Learning Support, when not required to cover a teacher.

The successful candidates will be responsible for supervising students in the absence of the class teacher under the guidance of the Cover Manager. Responsibilities will include, registration of the class, supervising the work that has been set, managing student behaviour, assisting students with the relevant activities in line with the schools’ policies and procedures and providing feedback to the class teacher.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role will require the post holder to supervise work that has been set by the teaching staff, and to provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement. The role will be flexible to include supporting individual or groups of students and assisting specific departments with routine administrative tasks. A comprehensive induction programme and training will be provided

We are seeking an individual who has:

Experience of working to support children’s learning gained in a relevant environment
Demonstrate an organised and positive approach to students to encourage their learning
Well-developed interpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide range of people
Work constructively as part of a team whilst being able to demonstrate initiative

The post will require the successful applicant to be self-motivated, have good communication and organisational skills, a friendly manner and able to work under pressure.

Salary & Other Information

Hours: 37 hours per week (8am-4pm, Mon to Thurs, 8am-3.30pm Friday)

Grade and SCP: Grade 6 (SCP 8 to 11)

Salary: £13.90 - £14.59 per hour, depending on SCP point

Contract Type: Permanent term time only plus 5 PD days
