Ofsted Report
Belvidere School has been recognised for its strong leadership and commitment to student welfare in its latest Ofsted report, published following the inspection in April 2025. Inspectors highlighted the school’s clear direction and positive progress under the current leadership team, noting that “Leaders have an astute understanding of the school’s development through a forensic evaluation of its progress” and that they have “taken appropriate action to bring about positive changes.”
The report also praised the school’s emphasis on personal development, with students benefiting from a range of opportunities under the Belvidere Baccalaureate. Inspectors stated that “The school places considerable emphasis on pupils’ personal development,” and that “Pupil leaders speak with pride about their positions and how they are helping to drive improvements.”
Additionally, the report commended the school’s welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. One pupil described Belvidere as “a community where we can belong and believe that we can succeed.” The school’s focus on reading and literacy was also highlighted, with inspectors noting “strong provision in place to support pupils’ reading” and targeted efforts to foster a love of reading through carefully selected texts.
