Belvidere School

SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

Our aim at Belvidere is to ensure that all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, get the quality education they are entitled to. As a school we want our students to achieve their best, become confident individuals and be successfully prepared for their transition into adulthood. We want to give everyone equal life chances and ensure our young people with SEND are supported to achieve paid employment, independent living, good health, friendships, relationships and community inclusion.

We aim to ensure all students have access to a broad and balanced curriculum, as well as developing their basic skills through interventions to enable them to access the curriculum as independently as possible. The SENDCo is based in the Learning Support Department, as are the team of Teaching Assistants who support our students across the curriculum. As an inclusive school all staff are invested in supporting our students with SEND through quality first teaching and targeted interventions.

If you would like to discuss any SEND related issues, please complete this online SEND referral. A member of the SEND team will be in contact within 24 hours to discuss further. We will then complete a SEND referral process which will typically take 2 weeks to complete.
