Teaching Assistant 2026 - Level 3
Overview
The Teaching Assistant plays an important role in supporting teaching and learning at Belvidere School, working with pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. The postholder will provide in-class, small-group, and individual support to pupils with a wide range of needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence, and make positive progress.
As part of this role, the Teaching Assistant may also be deployed to support pupils within the KS4 Belvidere Bridge provision, the school’s internal alternative provision supporting pupils with additional behavioural, emotional, or learning needs. The role therefore requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to inclusion.
Duties and Responsibilities

Provide in-class support for pupils across KS3 and KS4, helping them access learning and achieve their potential.

Deliver targeted support to individuals and small groups under the direction of teaching staff.

Adapt resources and strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs, including SEND and SEMH.

Support pupils within the KS4 Belvidere Bridge provision, promoting engagement, positive behaviour, and successful reintegration into mainstream learning.

Build positive, professional relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence, independence, and emotional regulation.

Promote high standards of behaviour using consistent, trauma-informed and restorative approaches.

Monitor pupil wellbeing and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and SEND staff to ensure consistent support.

Contribute to record-keeping, progress monitoring, and preparation of learning resources.

Work flexibly across year groups, subjects, and provisions in response to school needs.
Salary & Other Information
Job Title: Teaching Assistant Level 3
Hours: 37 hours per week
Grade and SCP: Grade 6 (SCP8 to 11)
Hourly rate: £13.90 to £14.59
Contract Type: Permanent, term time only
